All new homes permitted as of January 1, 2012, and pursuing the ENERGY STAR for Homes qualification will be required to meet the ENERGY STAR Version 3 (v3) standard. In an effort to properly prepare the residential housing industry for the requirements of ENERGY STAR v3, ENERGY STAR is providing a transition period for industry participants through ENERGY STAR v2.5. Therefore, all new homes permitted April 1 through December 31, 2011, and pursuing the ENERGY STAR for Homes qualification will be required to meet the ENERGY STAR v2.5 standard.
All Home Energy Rater partners are required to take ENERGY STAR for Homes Version 3 training and pass the national ENERGY STAR exam through a RESNET-accredited Training Provider by January 1, 2012, to be eligible to qualify homes under the new guidelines. This requirement applies to all existing ENERGY STAR rater partners, as well as any new raters who sign onto the program in the future, and includes field inspectors who are doing inspection and testing associated with ENERGY STAR qualified homes.
Southface is offering this 2-day training from 8am to 5pm on the dates above.
